COMMERCIAL INSURANCE PRODUCER
SUMMARY OF PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develops and implements a successful Sales Plan as co-developed and approved by management.
- Promotes new business through active prospecting strategies to include cold calling, networking and effective use of marketing tools.
- Makes executive level presentations to prospects and clients, closes sales, and oversees ongoing service to clients.
- Professionally represents HealthSure to all customers, prospects, and business partners.
- Promotes HealthSure to the insurance industry and the healthcare community.
- Completes sales forecasts and reporting anticipating results accurately and timely.
- Actively builds a network in the healthcare industry.
- Takes initiative, is results-oriented, and constantly focuses on both individual and team success.
- Participates in interviewing, hiring and training additions to the sales team.
- Performs other job related duties as required.
REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE:
- Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years of property & casualty insurance sales, preferably medical malpractice experience with physicians and/or hospitals
- Demonstrated experience to vigorously prospect and close business
- Results-oriented, with proven track record of success in insurance production
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, organization skills, and solid time management
- Executive-level presentation skills
- Ability to travel as required
ACCOUNT MANAGER
SUMMARY OF PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
NEW BUSINESS
- Assists clients with making coverage changes in an automated environment supported by transactional filing; uses each contact with the client as an opportunity to review the whole account, round it and market.
- Informs and educates clients about policy coverage, changes, exclusion, and insurance coverage needs.
- Provides technical support to producers to benefit clients and to reach agency's strategic business goals.
- Prepares proposals and completes application in coordination with producers; submits applications to eligible and appropriate carriers; follows up to ensure timely receipt of quotations and policies.
- Explains to clients' needs by producing binders, certificates, policies, endorsements, and other related items; verifies their accuracy.
- Actively seeks referrals from current client base
RETENTION
- Prepares summaries of insurance, schedules, and proposals as needed for account review.
- Remarkets renewals, contacts clients, creates renewal proposals, and handles other renewal activities in coordination with the producers.
- Reviews audits of policies; verifies accuracy and facilitates corrections, as needed, between client and carrier.
- Maintains and updates electronic and transactional files.
- Processes incoming mail requests, responding promptly and appropriately.
- Determines reasons for requests for cancellations; acts to save accounts.
- Assists clients in submitting first reports of claims; facilitates prompt response from carrier staff and follows up on claims status to keep insureds informed and to work toward settlement of claims.
MARKETING
- Actively solicits increases in coverage and rounds out accounts through sales to clients; leaves good documentation of all contacts.
- Assists in design of insurance service plans for clients as directed by management.
PERSONAL & ORGANIZATION DEVELOPMENT
- Sets priorities and manages workflow to ensure efficient, timely, and accurate processing of transactions and other responsibilities.
- Maintains a cordial and effective relationship with clients, co-workers, carriers, vendors and other business contacts.
- Keeps informed regarding industry information, new product information, legislation, coverages and technology to continuously improve knowledge and performance.
- Interacts with others effectively by utilizing good communications skills, cooperating purposefully and providing information and guidance, as needed, to achieve the business goals.
- Maintains up-to-date technical manuals and understands how to perform technical tasks to expedite client service.
REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE:
- a high school diploma. A college degree preferred.
- at least 5 years insurance related experience, preferably in underwriting or servicing
- proficiency using Microsoft Office (Word/Excel)
- ability to utilize computer programs and understand functionality
- excellent written and oral communication skills
- exceptional organizational skills
- above average mathematical skills
- appropriate insurance agent's license (P&C)
- full knowledge of insurance products and usages
- knowledge of insurance markets
- knowledge of rating procedures, coverages, and industry operations
